Blogging originally started as a personal tool for individuals to keep a diary or journal online, but the digital age has opened up many doors of communication. Blogging is now, and has been for awhile, one of the most predominate tools of communication.

There are many reasons why you should start blogging if you haven’t already.

Build a library of resources

As you initially develop your blog, it is important to strategize your information and how you will present it to your readers. Think of creating a path for your readers to follow along in your business or to learn step-by-step. However you strategize your blog, know that it will always be changing as it grows. Information will be expanded upon, you’ll have prequels and sequels, part 2s and 3s, and so on. This library of resources doesn’t stop unless you stop sharing the value you have to give.

Share your knowledge

If you aren’t already, you should be sharing ideas, updates, teachings, and so much more. Sharing this valuable information gives readers a chance to become educated or entertained, and in exchange building trust and recognition for you. As you share your knowledge, you may become more recognized and start to build a community of followers, allowing you to become an authority figure in your industry – an expert.

Build a network

Blogging is a community-based tool, allowing you to create content and share it to provide value. Whether you’re blogging about the stock market, or how to eat better, or how to market your business, this information can be shared with like-minded individuals who find value in it and share it with their network – creating a vast network.

Business SEO

Your blog is a valuable asset, not only to you but also to your clients and the business. It serves as an additional pathway for users to find you on the big search engines when relevancy to the search kicks in. Let’s say you’re a plumber and you blogged about leaky bathroom faucets, well someone that is searching information about leaky bathroom faucets may run into your article and read further to obtain the information they were looking for. We’re not saying that every blog article you write will be found every time, but it increases the likelihood of your website showing up because you have relevant information pertaining to a specific search. Blogs are part of your website and get indexed by the major search engines!

Opportunities

As you can see, blogging provides many values and benefits to you and/or your company. This list could obviously be expanded upon, but you get the picture… Start blogging! Whether you’re just writing short articles or micro-blogs, the up-to-date- content you share is invaluable to the growth of your business and the opportunities are endless. All you need to do is get started, it’s one of the easiest things to do for your business right now.

Grow your knowledge and share the value.
